Windows 8 Static IP setup
To setup Windows 8 with a static IP, begin by locating the control panel with the search function.
In the Control Panel, choose Network and Internet.
In Network and Internet, choose Network and Sharing Center.
Once in Network and Sharing Center, click on Change Adapter Settings.
Clicking on Change Adapter Settings will take you to the Network Connections. Right click on the appropriate connection and click on properties.
In the Ethernet Properties, you will need to select the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) You may need to scroll down a little to find it in the list. Click on it once so it is highlighted, then click on properties.
Now that we have the Ethernet properties up, choose the radio button that reads "Use the following IP address, and enter your IP information into the appropriate fields. Then click the "Use the following DNS server addresses" radio button. Enter 188.8.131.52 into the Preferred DNS server field, and 184.108.40.206 into the Alternate DNS field.
Finish up by hitting the OK button and closing the networking window.
