Windows XP PPPOE Configuration

Since Windows XP has its own PPPOE implementation, it is not necessary to install a 3rd party driver to get the connection for DSL working. Instead we can use the built-in software to create a stable and compatible connection in short order. The first thing that we’ll need to do is click on the Start button, typically in the lower left-hand corner of the screen in XP. Once the Start menu is opened, click on Control Panels, then Network and Internet Connections.

Click on Network Connections

 Now click on Create a New Connection

If the location info isn't filled out, the Location Information Wizard will pop up and this needs to be filled out be for you can continue. None of this information will affect your internet connection.

Click Next

Select Connect to the Internet then click on Next.

Select Connect using a broadband connection that requires a user name and password then click on Next.

Type in Omsoft for the Provider Name then click on Next.

Enter your username and password in the appropriate fields, then enter the password a second time to confirm it.
