Setting up Mac Mail (Sierra)
Begin by opening the Mac Mail program.
Click on “Mail” on the top menu bar and select “Preferences…”.
Make sure you have selected “Accounts” on the preferences screen, and create a new account by clicking on the “+” symbol near the bottom of the screen.
When asked to choose a Mail account provider, select “Other Mail Account”.
Fill out the next screen with your name, email address, and password. If you don’t have your username and password, please contact Omsoft for help. It will say “Unable to verify account name or password.”, click “Sign in” to move to the next screen.
Make sure your email address, username, and password are correct in this window. You can use IMAP or POP as you prefer, but most people will want to use IMAP. The mail server for both incoming and outgoing mail is mail.dcn.davis.ca.us. Click “Sign In” when done.
The next screen will ask what apps you want to use with this account. Select mail, and then click done. Your email will now start coming in.
